The 20/20 Rule

If you’re trying to decide to keep an item “just in case,” consider this: If it can be replaced for $20 or by going 20 minutes out of your way, out it goes!

If you have been following Marie Kondo and her methods, you will be aware that many of the objects we keep are due to an attachment to the past or fear of the future.

Somewhere deep inside, you already know you’ll never need it again, and this rule helps to satisfy the “what ifs.” How many times do you think you’ll actually need to use it? Probably never!
