It’s a question professional organizers hear constantly. Many YouTube videos show organizers in their own homes, with the kitchen shelves labeled, directing them where to replace the dishes they take from the dishwasher. They label their medicine cabinets, in case they forget where they put the toothpaste. And God forbid they didn’t have a label to show them which drawer the socks are in!
Marie Kondo believes that an atmospheric static is created when storage areas are “cluttered” with words. In my own home, I move dry goods to glass jars, and I always label these. This (and spices) are exceptions, and it prevents us from accidentally using salt instead of sugar!
